The list of sub-batches available in the system and the corresponding properties are displayed in the Sub batches form (Inventory management > Inquiries and reports > Tracking dimensions > Sub batches).
The following information is available in the sub-batch Identification FastTab:
Sub-batch number: Mandatory, it can be manually entered or automatically assigned if the sub-batch reference in the Inventory and warehouse management parameters form > Number sequences tab is linked to a number sequence.
Item number: Mandatory, identifies the parent item.
Batch number: Mandatory, identifies the parent batch.
The following information is available in the sub-batch Properties FastTab:
Shelf-life dates (Manufacturing date, Shelf advice date, Best before date, Expiration date, and Destroy by date): Automatically populated based on the shelf-life dates of the parent batch, they can be manually overridden through the Reset > Reset shelf life dates button.
Desiccant expiration date: the expiration date of the desiccant associated with the container, if applicable. Pharmaceutical desiccants are used to maintain the quality, strength, and purity of medical drugs for the long term by maintaining a dry packaging environment, thus protecting the pharmaceutical from any kind of damage due to moisture or humidity.
Sub batch type: it can either be automatically assigned upon registration or manually entered by selecting among a list of values.
Stopped: defines the usability of the sub-batch. If the sub-batch is stopped, it cannot be transacted.
Reason code: it can be manually entered by selecting among a list of values. It is used to define a reason code for blocking the sub-batch.
Empty: it identifies if the sub-batch has been marked as empty upon production consumption via mobile device or upon dispensing process.
Locked fields: identifies whether the sub-batch fields have been locked, that is, the link with the parent batch has been broken.
Database log: this parameter is automatically enabled if the sub-batch information has been modified and the modification is tracked in the database log.
Text: optional description of the sub-batch.
The following information is available in the sub-batch Inventory management FastTab:
Restrictions: this parameter is automatically enabled if one or more restrictions for the sub-batch are defined.
Cautionary statement: indicates the investigational purpose of a new drug or states the intention of a shipment.
Container configuration: can be selected to identify the primary packaging configuration for the sub-batch. The value may be inherited from the item and automatically populated if a default container configuration for the item has been set up, but it can be manually modified.
The following additional information is available in the sub-batch Quality management FastTab:
Use code: indicates the approved uses for the sub-batch.
Storage condition: it can either be automatically assigned upon registration if an active storage condition for the item has been defined or manually entered by selecting among the list of approved storage conditions for the item. The Description is automatically populated based on the selected value.
In the Batch FastTab, users can view information related to the parent batch. When a new sub-batch is created and linked to a batch number, the Batch FastTab information is automatically populated and cannot be modified.
