Use the Rental Mobile Operations - Field service app to start, do, and finish scheduled assembly or disassembly work order tasks. This flow shows the minimal required activities to work on assembly or disassembly work order tasks using the Rental Mobile Operations - Field service app. You can do other activities as desired for your situation.

The work order lines, which are assigned to you, are shown as work order tasks in your Rental Mobile Operations - Field service app. To start work on a work order task, first find the work order tasks that are assigned to you. You can find work order tasks in several ways: Calendar: You can find work order tasks based on a selected date, week, or month. Grid or list: You can scroll the assigned work order tasks in a grid or list view. Search: Type (a part of) the name of the work order task that you want to find. Note: Only work order tasks are shown with status 'Created' or 'In progress'. Procedure 1. Open to the Rental Mobile Operations - Field service app. By default, the Bookings page is shown, with the 'My Schedule' view. 2. Subtask: Use Calendar view. 3. Tap the floating action button > Show As > Calendar. Note: On a Windows device or browser, on the taskbar, click Show As > Calendar. 4. The Calendar view is shown per day, week, or month. You can change the shown time period. On the My Schedule view, select Day, Week, or Month. Note: On a mobile phone, only the Day view is available. 5. By default, the Calendar view shows the day, week, or month with the current date selected. You can change the shown day, week, or month. On the My Schedule view, select another day, week, or month. Note: To select the previous or next day, week, or month, tap the [] button. 6. To open a work order task, tap the work order task, and on the pop-up, tap More Details. Note: On a mobile phone, simply tap the work order task to open it. 7. Subtask: Use Grid view. 8. Use the Grid view to show all assigned work order tasks in a grid. Tap the floating action button > Show As > Read Only Grid. Note: On a Windows device or browser, on the taskbar, click Show As > Read Only Grid. 9. On the Grid view, you can use the field column headers to sort the work order tasks. Tap the desired field column header and select 'Sort A to Z' or 'Sort Z to A'. Note: On a mobile phone, instead of a grid, a list is shown. You can only sort by name. 10. To open a work order task, in the Name field, tap the link of the desired work order task. Note: On a mobile phone, tap the list entry. 11. Subtask: Search for work order task 12. In the 'Quick find' field, type (a part of) the desired name or number and tap the search icon. 13. On the Search results view, find the desired work order task. Notes On the Bookings page, you can also show some other views: My Completed Work My Team's Schedule Today's Transport Work order tasks To change the view, tap the currently shown views title (for example, My Schedule) and select the desired view. Start work on work order task Start work on work order task Usually, you record the time you work on a work order task. Start recording if you are at the work order task location and start working on the work order task. When you start a work order task, and the work order task status is 'Created', the work order task status is changed to 'In Progress'. Also the related work order line status in D365 F&SCM is set to 'In progress'. Note: If you are working offline, the the work order line status is not changed until you are back online. Procedure 1. On the Booking page, review the work order task information and work to be done. 2. Tap the floating action button > Start Work. Note: On a Windows device or browser, on the taskbar, click Start Work. Notes You can also use 'Start Travel' to start a work order task. If you use the travel time to start a work order task, make sure to end it when you arrive at the work order task location. You cannot start work on a work order task before you end the travel time. You can also start a work order task by manually changing its status to 'In Progress'. Assemble or  disassemble? Assemble or  disassemble? Assemble asset Assemble asset As a field service engineer, assemble the asset, using the assembly components as defined on the assembly work order task. When a picker completed picking assembly components, you receive a message that picking is done and assembly can start. Procedure 1. On the Booking page, open the Checklist tab. The Assembly Instructions sections shows the assembly components to be used. 2. If you have assembled a component, select it and tap Assemble. Note: On a mobile phone, tap the overflow menu [...] button of the component, and tap Assemble.You can mark several selected components as assembled at once. Select the desired components and, on the Assembly Instructions section header, tap Assemble. Note: On a mobile phone, on the Assembly Instructions section header, tap the overflow menu [...] button, and tap Select. In the list select the desired components. Again, on the Assembly Instructions section header, tap the overflow menu button and tap Assemble. Notes Only start assembly when you have received a notification that the assembly components are picked. Disassemble asset Disassemble asset As a field service engineer, disassemble the asset, using the disassembly components as defined on the disassembly work order task. Procedure 1. On the Booking page, open the Checklist tab. The Disassembly Instructions sections shows the components to be disassembled. 2. If you have disassembled a component, select it and tap Disassemble. Note: On a mobile phone, tap the overflow menu [...] button of the component, and tap Disassemble.You can mark several selected components as disassembled at once. Select the desired components and, on the Disassembly Instructions section header, tap Disassemble. Note: On a mobile phone, on the Disassembly Instructions section header, tap the overflow menu [...] button, and tap Select. In the list select the desired components. Again, on the Disassembly Instructions section header, tap the overflow menu button and tap Disassemble. End work on work order task End work on work order task Usually, you record the time you work on a work order task. When work on a work order task is finished, end recording working time for the work order task. When you end work on a work order task: An entry is created on the Journals tab, in the Time Registrations section. This time registration entry shows the recorded working time. In D365 F&SCM, in the Work order line transactions, a transaction of registration type 'Hour' is created. Note: If you are working offline, the transaction is not created until you are back online. Procedure 1. On the Booking page, tap the floating action button > End Work. Note: On a Windows device or browser, on the taskbar, click End Work. Notes When you started work on a work order task, you can also record break time: tap Start Break. When you are recording break time, you cannot end work on the work order task. Review work order task Review work order task Before you sign off a work order task, review the work order task registrations. Use the Summary page to get an overview of the work and registrations done for a work order task. On the Summary page, you can review and update: Checklist tasks results and notes. Necessary item consumption. Spare part registrations. Time registrations. Costs registrations. Updates on the Summary page are synchronized with D365 F&SCM. Note: If you are working offline, the updates are not synchronized until you are back online. Procedure 1. On the Booking page, tap the floating action button > Summary. Note: On a Windows device or browser, on the taskbar, click Summary. 2. On the Summary page, review and update the work and registrations done on the work order task. 3. Close the Summary page. Notes You can only update a registration if the related work order line transaction in D365 F&SCM is not posted. Sign off work order task Sign off work order task To complete a work order task, get a sign-off from your contact at the customer site. Before your contact signs off the work order task, you can show the: Work you have done in the Checklist section. Necessary item consumption in the Necessary Items section. Spare parts that you have used in the Spare Parts section. Time you have spent in the Time Registrations section.. Costs you have incurred in the Costs section. If you confirm a work order task sign-off: The work order task is moved to 'My Completed Work' in the Rental Mobile Operations - Field service app. In D365 F&SCM, the related work order line is set to 'Completed'. The signature is stored as an image in SharePoint. In D365 F&SCM, an attachment is added to the related work order line. This attachment is of type URL and its URL refers to the signature image as stored in SharePoint. Note: If you are working offline, the actions for which an online connection is required are only done until you are back online. Procedure 1. On the Booking page, tap the floating action button > Complete Booking. Note: On a Windows device or browser, on the taskbar, click Complete Booking. 2. Ask your contact to review the work order task details. 3. In the Signature box, ask your contact to sign off the work order task. 4. Tap 'Confirm'. Notes You can only complete a work order task if all of the following conditions are met: All started time registrations are ended. Consumption is registered for all necessary items. A task result is registered for each checklist task. In case of an assembly work order task, all asset components must be assembled. A work order task can be assigned to a resource group or several field service engineers. If you complete such a work order task and: Not for each checklist task or necessary item an action is registered, the work order task is completed only for you. The work order task as such is not completed. Other field service engineers can still work on it. For each checklist task or necessary item an action is registered, the work order task is completed for all assigned field service engineers. Advice: In case of multi-resource or resource group assignments of work order tasks, give your field service engineers clear instructions. For example, on who can close a work order task or on required communication on closing work order tasks. End End Assemble Disassemble

In D365 F&SCM, work order lines can be assigned to you. The work order lines, which are assigned to you, are shown as work order tasks in your Rental Mobile Operations - Field service app.

To start work on a work order task, first find the work order tasks that are assigned to you. You can find work order tasks in several ways:

Assemble asset

As a field service engineer, assemble the asset, using the assembly components as defined on the assembly work order task.

When a picker completed picking assembly components, you receive a message that picking is done and assembly can start.

As a field service engineer, disassemble the asset, using the disassembly components as defined on the disassembly work order task.

End work on work order task

Usually, you record the time you work on a work order task. When work on a work order task is finished, end recording working time for the work order task.

When you end work on a work order task:

  • An entry is created on the Journals tab, in the Time Registrations section. This time registration entry shows the recorded working time.
  • In D365 F&SCM, in the Work order line transactions, a transaction of registration type 'Hour' is created. Note: If you are working offline, the transaction is not created until you are back online.

Review work order task

Before you sign off a work order task, review the work order task registrations.

Use the Summary page to get an overview of the work and registrations done for a work order task.

On the Summary page, you can review and update:

  • Checklist tasks results and notes.
  • Necessary item consumption.
  • Spare part registrations.
  • Time registrations.
  • Costs registrations.

Updates on the Summary page are synchronized with D365 F&SCM. Note: If you are working offline, the updates are not synchronized until you are back online.

Sign off work order task

To complete a work order task, get a sign-off from your contact at the customer site.

Before your contact signs off the work order task, you can show the:

  • Work you have done in the Checklist section.
  • Necessary item consumption in the Necessary Items section.
  • Spare parts that you have used in the Spare Parts section.
  • Time you have spent in the Time Registrations section..
  • Costs you have incurred in the Costs section.

If you confirm a work order task sign-off:

  • The work order task is moved to 'My Completed Work' in the Rental Mobile Operations - Field service app.
  • In D365 F&SCM, the related work order line is set to 'Completed'.
  • The signature is stored as an image in SharePoint.
  • In D365 F&SCM, an attachment is added to the related work order line. This attachment is of type URL and its URL refers to the signature image as stored in SharePoint.

Note: If you are working offline, the actions for which an online connection is required are only done until you are back online.
