You can register the parts used for a work order task.

You can:

  • Register necessary items consumption
  • Register the spare parts usage.

A necessary item is a (spare) part that is required to do the work order task. The necessary items for a work order task are defined in D365 F&SCM in the work order line transactions. When you consume or skip a necessary item, in D365 F&SCM, the related Work order line transactions are updated (consume) or deleted (skip). The work order line transaction is of type 'Required item'. Note: If you are working offline, the necessary item consumption registration is not synchronized with the Work order line transactions until you are back online. Procedure 1. On the Booking page, open the Parts tab. 2. If you have consumed a necessary item, in the Necessary Items section, select the item and, on the section header, tap Consume. Note: If there is no need to consume a necessary item, tap Skip.On a mobile phone, tap the overflow menu [...] button of the necessary item, and tap the desired status.The Necessary Items section shows up to five items. If there are more, tap See more to see all items. Notes You can consume or skip several selected necessary items at once. Select the desired necessary items and tap Consume or Skip. Note: On a mobile phone, on the Necessary Items section header, tap the overflow menu [...] button, and tap Select. In the list select the desired items. Again, on the Necessary Items section header, tap the overflow menu button and tap Consume or Skip. You can also register necessary item consumption on the Item Checklist page. To do so, double-tap (tablet or Windows device) or tap (mobile phone) a necessary item and tap Consumed or Skipped. Spare parts used? Spare parts used? You can scan a barcode or manually enter the item number or serial number of the used spare part. When you: Save the entered spare part, an entry is created on the Parts tab, in the Spare Parts section. Post the spare part entry, in D365 F&SCM, in the Work order line transactions, a transaction is created of registration type 'Item'. Note: If you are working offline, the transaction is not created in the Work order line transactions until you are back online. Procedure 1. On the Booking page, open the Parts tab. 2. Subtask: Scan barcode. 3. To register a spare part, you can scan a barcode of an item number or serial number. On the Spare Parts section header, tap Scan Item. Note: On a mobile phone, tap the overflow menu [...] button of the Spare Parts section header, and tap Scan Item. 4. Point you mobile device camera at the barcode. Note: When a barcode is scanned, a green line is shown on your camera. Automatically, the New Spare Part page is opened. 5. On the New Spare Part page, review the scanned item information and, if desired, make changes. 6. Tap Save & Close. Note: If the item is not shown in the Spare Parts section, tap Refresh. 7. Subtask: Manually register a spare part. 8. On the Spare Parts section header, tap the overflow menu [⋮] or [...] button > New Spare Part. 9. On the New Spare Part page, fill in the fields. Note: In the Product field, you can enter the product name of the spare part. 10. Tap Save and tap Go Back [<]. Note: On a Windows device or browser, tap Save & Close. Notes You can: Change a registered spare part. To do so, in the Spare Parts section, double-tap (tablet or Windows device) or tap (mobile phone) the spare part in the list. On the Spare Part page, you can make changes. Delete a registered spare part. To do so, in the Spare Parts section, select the spare part and tap Delete Spare Part. Post the related work order line transaction journal for a registered spare part. To do so, select the spare part and tap Post Journal. Note: Usually, spare parts registrations are posted automatically when you complete a work order task. If desired, you can post the spare part registrations intermediately. You can delete or post several selected spare parts at once. Select the desired spare parts and tap Delete Spare Part or Post Journal. Note: On a mobile phone, on the Spare Parts section header, tap the overflow menu [...] button, and tap Select. In the list select the desired spare parts. Again, on the Spare Parts section header, tap the overflow menu button and tap Delete Spare Part or Post Journal. You can only do the following if the related work order line transaction in D365 F&SCM is not posted: Post a journal for a spare part. Change a spare part. Delete a spare part. End End Yes No
