The results entry process consists of the following steps:
Results entry: quality order results can be entered in the following ways:
Manually from the Quality orders form or from the Test result data entry form. If the Display in scientific parameter is enabled on the quality order line, the Result value is shown in scientific notation in the Result value (Scientific) field to make it easier to verify the correctness of the entered number.
By copying results from other quality orders, whenever the conditions of a copy test result rule apply (clicking the Copy test results button in the Quality orders form). The user must select from which of the applicable quality orders the result must be copied; only the quality orders that meet the copy test result rule condition can be used to copy the results.
Via automatic calculation, when the test has a defined calculation formula (clicking the Calculate test result button in the Quality order lineresults form). The result is automatically calculated based on results that have already been entered for other tests that belong to the same test group. This functionality has been integrated with Microsoft’s Quick result entry form, making it possible to use the Calculate test result button in the new interface.
Results assessment:
Test result: after the results are entered, the system verifies them against the acceptance criteria of the test (Test variable outcomes for qualitative tests and Test measurement values for quantitative tests) and determines if the test is passed or failed (Test result field).
Test result (Internal): if the internal specifications are enabled, the entered result is also verified against internal acceptance criteria, and the system determines if the test is passed or failed (Test result (Int) field).
Test result (Rounded): if the rounded specifications are enabled, the rounded result is also verified against the rounded acceptance criteria, and the system determines if the test is passed or failed (Test result (Rounded) field).
Results comment: it is possible to enter a comment for each result entered in the Result comment field.
Results review: each test within a quality order can be reviewed individually.
Sample reference: it is possible to assign a Sample reference to the specific test line result to identify the tested sample. Each Sample can be chosen from a configurable list of values, and each has a Sample type assigned. This functionality has been integrated with Microsoft’s Quick result entry form, making it possible to associate the Sample value with a result in the updated interface.
Users can assign a default Sample ID in the quality order header. The value is inherited by all the quality order line results; users are still allowed to modify the Sample field for the specific quality order line result, overriding the quality order header value.Note
The Sample and Sample ID fields are only available, if the “Tracking dimension – Sample” configuration key is enabled.
When results are entered for all mandatory tests, the Result entered checkbox in the quality order header is automatically enabled. This information can be used to:
Filter quality orders that are still pending the entry of results (i.e., Result entered disabled);
Define conditions in the quality order approval workflow (e.g., prevent the approval of a quality order that is still missing results).
Note
“Mandatory tests” refers to all tests that are required – meaning they are not optional (the Optional test checkbox is not enabled) and are not reduced in a reduced quality order (where the Reduced test checkbox would be marked in either the line or header of the quality order).
Once all results have been entered and reviewed, the quality order undergoes an approval process, and the batch is either released or rejected.
