Advanced report as finished via mobile device

Prev Next

Life Sciences Warehouse Management module allows users to report production as finished via mobile device by using the following work creation processes in the Mobile device menu items form (Warehouse management > Setup > Mobile device > Mobile device menu items):

  • Advanced report as finished: allows registering the produced batches/sub-batches;

  • Advanced report as finished and put: allows registering the produced material, printing the identity label, and performing the put away to the final storage location.

A batch order can be reported as finished directly from the mobile device in one step when registering the produced material by enabling the Allow ending of production order parameter for the relevant mobile device menu item.

Advanced report as finished registration

The registration process is common to Advanced report as finished and Advanced report as finished put work creation processes.

Users start the registration process by scanning the batch order number. If the formula has co-products and/or by-products, users can scan the item to register (either the main product or one of the co-products/by-products); otherwise, the mobile device will automatically register the main product. The Warehouse Management app automatically sets the produced quantity as equal to the batch size of the order, while the user can manually override it.

Users can manually assign the batch number to the produced material if it has not been previously set (either at the batch order level or via batch number group). Based on the menu item configuration, it is possible to display and/or assign the batch use code.

Based on the menu item configuration, operators can enable the End job before starting registering material to declare the production as ended after the current material registration. Any additional quantity expected to be produced will be zeroed (that is, Reported remainder as finished is set to zero), and the Status of the batch order will be set to Reported as finished.

If the Allow RAF more than started parameter (Production control > Setup > Production control parameters) is enabled, users can report as finished a quantity higher than the started one via mobile device. It is possible to define validation rules to apply limits to the reported as finished quantity.

If the produced item is sub-batch managed, users can generate sub-batch numbers. The Registration lines screen displays a summary of the batch and sub-batches being registered.

If the sub-batches have already been generated at a previous order status, by scanning/entering the sub-batch number, the sub-batch details (Container configuration, Sub batch type and Qty as the Default sub batch quantity in the Production sub batches form) are automatically inherited. Users can then modify the quantity, while the Container configuration and Sub batch type are not editable.

If the scanned/entered sub-batch has already been registered, an error message is displayed.

If the Sub batch number generation by order status parameter (Production control > Setup > Production control parameters > General tab) is disabled, users can create sub-batches via mobile device by entering a new sub-batch number. In that case, the quantity is automatically set as the Qty left to receive and editable.

If the Tolerance on total sub batch quantity parameter (Production control > Setup > Production control parameters) is enabled for sub batch-managed items, and the total sub batch quantity differs from the initially declared amount, the system will execute the following controls before registering the quantity:

  1. Ensure the total sub-batch quantities comply with the allowed limits of the quantity that can be reported as finished based on the quantity validation rules.

  2. Ensure that the sum of the sub-batch quantities is:

    • Between the initially declared quantity and the upper limit for the registered quantity, if the Accept over sub batch quantity parameter is enabled and the Accepted over quantity in percentage is defined.

    • Between the initially declared quantity and the lower limit for the registered quantity, if the Accept under sub batch quantity parameter is enabled and the Accepted under quantity in percentage is defined.

    • Equal to the initially declared quantity, if the Accept over sub batch quantity and Accept under sub batch quantity parameters are disabled.

If the Tolerance on total sub batch quantity parameter (Production control > Setup > Production control parameters) is enabled for sub batch-managed items, users can declare the registration completed and display the Registration lines screen by clicking the Done button in the Assign dimensions to LP screen, even if the Qty left to receive is different than zero. If the registered quantity is within the acceptable limits, users are allowed to complete the registration by clicking the OK button.

Upon reaching the Registration lines screen, users can add additional sub-batches manually or via the Create sub-batches button as part of the current report as finished process by clicking the Add sub batch button. Users are allowed to add additional sub-batches if their total quantity is:

  • Below the initially declared quantity.

  • Below the maximum quantity that can be reported as finished based on the quantity validation rules, and below the upper limit for the registered quantity, if the Tolerance on total sub batch quantity and the Accept over sub batch quantity parameters (Production control > Setup > Production control parameters) are enabled.

Advanced report as finished put away

The put-away process is integrated into mobile device menu items using the Advanced report as finished put work creation processes.

After the registration process is completed, the identity labels for the produced batch or sub-batches can be printed.

Finally, users can put the newly created quantity in the destination location, which is defaulted according to the configured location directives. If needed, users can override the destination location by providing a specific reason code. Users can also split the produced quantity on multiple license plates and/or locations.
