Product label printing via mobile device

Prev Next

Life Sciences Warehouse Management allows to print product labels upon material registration via mobile device.

Steps

Enable the print action by performing the following steps:

  1. Go to the Work templates form (Warehouse management > Setup > Work > Work templates).

  2. Select one of the following values in the Work order type field:

    • Purchase orders, to enable Label Printing upon purchase item registration;

    • Finished goods put away, to enable Label Printing upon manufactured product registration.

  3. In the Work Template Details section, between the desired Pick and Put lines, add a line. In the Work type field, select Print.

  4. Set the Mandatory parameter for the Print line:

    • If disabled, the Print action will open a Print labels dialog screen during the put-away process via mobile device, to prompt users to either print labels or skip Label Printing. If the user confirms the print, the system generates a label per each registered batch/sub-batch.

    • If enabled, the Print action will automatically generate multiple labels based on the number of batches/sub-batches generated during the registration process. The user will receive an Infolog message notifying that labels have been printed, without any need to confirm the print action.

  5. Go to the Mobile device menu item form (Warehouse management > Setup > Mobile device > Mobile device menu items), select the menu item during which the label will be printed, and configure the Select printer parameter:

    • If set to Yes, users will be able to manually select the printer during the product Label Printing via mobile device.

    • If set to No, the default printer will be used according to the Document routing setup.

When processing the print step, the system generates a .DAT, .PAS, .CSV or .XML file, according to the configuration, and drops it to the folder that is read by the external Label Printing software.

A record for each printed label is stored in the Labels form (Warehouse management > Inquiries and reports > Labels).
