Use a value add work order in Rental Management to add value to a business object or fixed asset. The costs are captured in a work order and posted to an acquisition adjustment journal.

To process a value add work order:

  1. Create a project group.
  2. Create the value add work order. A project is created automatically.
  3. Post the acquisition adjustment journal to add value to the fixed asset.
  4. Optionally, transfer value using a revision asset.

Also, it is important to take into consideration the sequence of moving from one status to another. Therefore, you should consider configuring the status group of the work order tasks beforehand. Procedure 1. Go to Work order project planning > Work orders > All work orders. 2. Open Work order number column filter. Note: enter a filter value 3. In the list, click the link in the selected row. 4. Click Update line. Note: on the work order lines 5. Click Completed. 6. Click Update line. 7. Click Closed. Note: Depending on the status group configuration you might not be able to go from created to closed immediately as you might need to complete the work order first and then it can be closed 8. Configure value transfer fields in work order parameters. You can transfer value by increasing the value of the existing asset or by creating a revision asset linked to the original. In this case, value is posted on the new asset. You can also define a minimum value for the value transfer, although it is not required. Procedure 1. Go to Work order project planning > Work orders > All work orders. 2. Click New. 3. In the Work order name field, type a value. 4. In the Business object field, enter or select a value. Note: You can also filter on the desired fixed asset 5. In the Project group field, enter or select a value. Note: a value add project group can be created beforehand to specify the receiving company and value transfer fields 6. In the Work order template ID field, enter or select a value. Note: A value added template has to be created beforehand in order to add the value add tasks 7. In the Start date field, enter a date. 8. In the list, mark the selected row. 6. Click Lines. 7. In the list, mark the selected row. 8. In the Item number field, enter or select a value. Note: The product should have default order settings which will auto-populate the site and warehouse. If there are no default order settings then the site and warehouse must be filled in manually on the product dimension tab 9. Click Save. 10. Close the page.
