Mobile device steps

Standard D365 F&SCM allows users to configure and display step names and instructions in the Warehouse Management app for mobile devices. This functionality is useful both to speed up the learning process for warehouse workers and to personalize the app according to the business and warehouse processes.

For each standard mobile device screen, users can configure the following information in the Mobile device steps form (Warehouse management > Setup > Mobile device > Mobile device steps):

  • Step titles: A short description of what a worker should do as part of the step, always displayed on top of the screen.

  • Step instructions: A longer description with additional information for the worker. It automatically appears as a pop-up dialog box and can be dismissed by tapping anywhere outside it. Users can select the Don’t show again checkbox to prevent the instruction from appearing the next time they perform the same task.

Life Sciences Warehouse Management integrates the mobile device steps functionality with STAEDEAN Life Sciences custom mobile device screens, such as advanced inquiries, verification of components, production consumption, label reprint, sub-batch generation, and sub-batch scans upon picking.

Note

It is required to click the Create default setup to be able to configure the STAEDEAN Life Sciences fields in the mobile device steps.
