Product label reprinting via mobile device

Prev Next

Product labels can be reprinted via mobile device by configuring a mobile device menu item which Activity code is Reprint product label.

Note

It is recommended to enable the Use advanced layout parameter for the mobile device menu item to display the printed records in card view. The parameter is enabled by default.

When users access the label reprint menu item on the mobile device, they are prompted to scan/enter a batch number.

Note

If multiple items have batches with the same Batch number, the system requests to scan the Item number to identify which label must be reprinted.

Depending on the active tracking dimensions of the item, different labels can be reprinted:

  • If the item is batch-managed (that is, only the Batch number tracking dimension is active), the system will display the most recent printed label record for the selected batch, and the user can reprint it by clicking the Print button.

  • If the item is sub-batch managed (that is, both the Batch number and Sub batch tracking dimensions are active), the system will display the most recent printed label records for all the sub-batches related to the selected batch, and the user can:

    • Select a specific record and reprint the label for the selected sub-batch only;

    • Click the Print button to reprint labels for all of the sub-batches.

Once the Print button is clicked, a screen is displayed with the following fields:

  • Printer name – This is the printer being used to reprint the label. The default value is blank.

  • Number of copies – This is the number of labels being reprinted. The field defaults with the number of originally printed labels, but users can select a different value.

  • Reprint reason – This is the reason code for the reprint operation. The default value is blank. This information is mandatory.

Note

The Layout ID is not displayed during the reprinting operation using the mobile device, and the system will automatically apply the Layout ID used for the original print operation.

All records corresponding to reprinted labels are stored in the Reprint log form (Warehouse management > Inquiries and reports > Reprint log).

The reprint log filtered for a specific label can also be opened from the Product labels form by selecting the label and clicking the Reprint log button.
