The Rental Mobile Operations apps have several generic functions.


User User Start Start Use barcode scanner Use barcode scanner In the Rental Mobile Operations apps, in several places, you can use the barcode scanner. Where you can use the barcode scanner, the Scan barcode option  is shown on a grid header, on a task bar, or on a floating action button. For more information, refer to: Use the barcode scanner. Contact customer via phone or email Contact customer via phone or email You can contact a customer directly from a Rental Mobile Operations app. You can contact a customer by: Phone call An phone number must be defined in the Contact Phone field. To call, tap the phone icon. Your standard phone app is opened from where you can do the call. When you finish the call, you can add a name and description, and save it. It is saved to the related work order line. Email An email address must be defined in the Contact Email field. To send an email, tap the email icon. Your standard email app is opened from where you can send the email. Change language Change language You can change the language of a Rental Mobile Operations app. The Rental Mobile Operations apps are available in several languages. Procedure 1. On the home page of the app, tap the floating action button > Languages. Note: On a Windows device or browser, on the taskbar, tap Languages. 2. Choose the desired language. 3. To activate the change, sign out and sign in again. View company setup View company setup For the Rental Mobile Operations - Field Service app, as a field service engineer, you can view the default company and warehouse to which you are assigned. Procedure 1. On the home page, on the site map, tap the Area. Note: The Field Service app has two areas: Work and Settings. By default, the Work area is shown. 2. Tap Settings. 3. Tap Company Setup. 4. View to which default company and warehouse you are assigned. View device status View device status The Rental Mobile Operations apps support the offline-first mode.  On the Device Status dialog, you can: View if the device is connected or offline. View the synchronization status. Check for updates, which synchronizes the app and data in the app. For more information, refer to: Work with model-driven apps offline (offline-first mode) View offline sync status Procedure 1. On the app header, tap the Device Status (globe) button. 2. To synchronize, tap Check for updates. Review settings Review settings You can review and change your personal settings for a Rental Mobile Operations app. You can, for example, change your time zone or calendar setup. Procedure 1. On the home page, on the site map, tap the Settings icon. 2. Review the settings and, if desired, make changes. 3. Close the Settings page. Notes On a Windows device or browser, on the app header, click Settings > Personalization Settings. Reconfigure Reconfigure You can reconfigure a Rental Mobile Operations app. You do so to make sure you run the latest version of the app. For example, you can reconfigure an app, if a new version is available or updates are made to the app. Procedure 1. On the home page, on the site map, tap the Profile icon. 2. Tap Reconfigure. 3. On the Home page, tap the Rental Mobile Operations app to open it. Notes On a Windows device or browser, on the app header, click User Information > Reconfigure. On the Apps page, click the Rental Mobile Operations app to open it. Sign out Sign out When you finish work, you can: Close the Power Apps mobile app. Sign out and close the Power Apps mobile app. Note: The next time you open the Power Apps mobile app, you must sign in.
