Register work order task costs

You can register any costs you make for a work order task.

You can register costs of type:

  • Hour
  • Mileage
  • Fee
  • Expense

When you : Save the manually created time registration, an entry is created on the Journals tab, in the Time Registrations section. Post the manually created time registration, in D365 F&SCM, in the Work order line transactions, a transaction of registration type 'Hour' is created. Note: If you are working offline, the transaction is not created until you are back online. Procedure 1. On the Booking page, open the Journals tab. 2. In the Time Registrations section, tap New time Registration. 3. Fill in the fields as desired. 4. Save the manually created time registration. Tap Save an tap Go Back [<]. Note: On a Windows device or browser, tap Save & Close. 5. Post the manually created time registration. On the Journals tab, in the Time Registrations section, select the manually created time registration. Note: The Time Registrations section shows up to four time registrations. If there are more, tap See more to see all time registrations. 6. Usually, manually time registrations are posted automatically when you complete a work order task. If desired, you can post the manually entered time registration intermediately. On the Time Registrations section header, tap Post Journal. Note: On a mobile phone, tap the overflow menu [...] button of the time registration, and tap Post Journal.You can post several selected time registrations at once. Select the desired time registrations and, on the Time Registrations section header, tap Post Journal. Note: On a mobile phone, on the Time Registrations section header, tap the overflow menu [...] button, and tap Select. In the list select the desired time registrations. Again, on the Time Registrations section header, tap the overflow menu button and tap Post Journal. Register mileage Register mileage If you must travel for a work order task, you can register the mileage. For each work order task, you can register mileage several times. For example, to register the mileage of the outward journey and the return journey. When you: Save the mileage registration, an entry is created on the Journals tab, in the Other Costs section. Post the mileage registration, in D365 F&SCM, in the Work order line transactions, a transaction of registration type 'Mileage expense' is created. Note: If you are working offline, the transaction is not created until you are back online. Procedure 1. On the Booking page, open the Journals tab. 2. On the Other Costs section header, tap New Cost. 3. In the Name field, type a value. 4. In the Registration Type field, select 'Mileage Expense'. 5. In the Quantity field, type the travel distance. 6. In the Description field, type a value. 7. Tap Save and tap Go Back [<]. Note: On a Windows device or browser, tap Save & Close. 8. On the Journals tab, in the Other Costs section, select the created mileage registration. Note: The Other Costs section shows up to four cost registrations. If there are more, tap See more to see all cost registrations. 9. Usually, mileage registrations are posted automatically when you complete a work order task. In the Amount field, type the fee or expense amount. 6. In the Description field, type a value. 7. Tap Save and tap Go Back [<]. Note: On a Windows device or browser, tap Save & Close. 8. On the Journals tab, in the Other Costs section, select the created fee or cost registration. Note: The Other Costs section shows up to four cost registrations. If there are more, tap See more to see all cost registrations. 9. Usually, other costs registrations are posted automatically when you complete a work order task. If desired, you can post the other costs registration intermediately. On the Other Costs section header, tap Post Journal. Note: On a mobile phone, tap the overflow menu [...] button of the cost registration, and tap Post Journal.You can post several selected cost registrations at once. Select the desired cost registrations and, on the Other Costs section header, tap Post Journal. If you must travel for a work order task, you can register the mileage.

For each work order task, you can register mileage several times. For example, to register the mileage of the outward journey and the return journey.
