Use the Rental Mobile Operations - Transportation app to start, do, and finish scheduled transport tasks. This flow shows the minimal required activities to transport scheduled deliveries and pickups using the Rental Mobile Operations - Transportation app. You can do other activities as desired for your situation.


Driver Driver Start Start Find transport task Find transport task In D365 F&SCM, transport tasks can be assigned to you. The transport tasks, which are assigned to you, are shown in your Rental Mobile Operations - Transportation app. To start a transport task, first find the desired transport task. You can find transport tasks in several ways: Calendar: You can find transport tasks based on a selected date, week, or month. Grid or list: You can scroll the assigned transport tasks in a grid or list view. Search: Type (a part of) the name of the transport task that you want to find. Note: On the Active Transport Bookings view, only transport tasks are shown with status 'Released' or 'In progress'. To view 'Completed' transport tasks, open the Inactive Transport Bookings view. To change the view, tap the currently shown views title (for example, Active Transport Bookings) and select the desired view. Procedure 1. Open to the Rental Mobile Operations - Transportation app. By default, the Bookings page is shown, with the 'Active Transport Bookings' view. 2. Subtask: Use Calendar view. 3. Tap the floating action button > Show As > Calendar. Note: On a Windows device or browser, on the taskbar, click Show As > Calendar. 4. The Calendar view is shown per day, week, or month. You can change the shown time period. On the Active Transport Bookings view, select Day, Week, or Month. Note: On a mobile phone, only the Day view is available. 5. By default, the Calendar view shows the day, week, or month with the current date selected. You can change the shown day, week, or month. On the Active Transport Bookings view, select another day, week, or month. Note: To select the previous or next day, week, or month, tap the [] button. 6. To open a transport task, tap the transport task, and on the pop-up, tap More Details. Note: On a mobile phone, simply tap the work order to open it. 7. Subtask: Use Grid view. 8. Use the Grid view to show all assigned transport tasks in a grid. Tap the floating action button > Show As > Read Only Grid. Note: On a Windows device or browser, on the taskbar, click Show As > Read Only Grid. 9. On the Grid view, you can use the field column headers to sort the transport tasks. Tap the desired field column header and select 'Sort A to Z' or 'Sort Z to A'. Note: On a mobile phone, instead of a grid, a list is shown. You can only sort by name. 10. To open a transport task, double-tap the desired transport task. Note: On a mobile phone, tap the list entry. 11. Subtask: Search for transport task. 12. In the 'Quick find' field, type the desired transport task name/number and tap the search icon. 13. On the Search results view, find the desired transport task. 14. To open a transport task, in the Name field, tap the desired transport task. Note: On a mobile phone, tap the list entry. Start transport task Start transport task Before you start working on a transport task, start the transport task. When you start a transport task, and the transport task status is 'Released', the transport task status is changed to 'In Progress'. Also the related work order line status in D365 F&SCM is set to 'In progress'. Note: If you are working offline, the work order line status is not changed until you are back online. Procedure 1. On the Transport Booking page, review the transport task information. 2. Tap the floating action button > Start Booking. Note: On a Windows device or browser, on the taskbar, click Start Booking. Notes You can also start a transport task by manually changing its status to 'In Progress'. What's the type  of transport? What's the type  of transport? Deliver items Deliver items In the Delivery Items list, you can find the items to be delivered for the transport task. For each item set the delivery status: Delivered: The item is delivered. Skipped: The item delivery is skipped. When you have changed and saved the delivery status of an item, it is synchronized to the related work order line in D365 F&SCM. Note: If you are working offline, the item delivery status is not synchronized until you are back online. Procedure 1. On the Transport Booking page, open the Delivery Items tab. 2. Do the delivery and set each item status accordingly. If you have:Delivered the item, select the item and tap Mark as Delivered.Not delivered the item, select the item and tap Mark as Skipped. Note: On a mobile phone, tap the overflow menu [...] button of the item, and tap the desired option.You can mark several selected items as delivered or skipped at once. Select the desired items and, on the Delivery Items section header, tap the desired option. Note: On a mobile phone, on the Delivery Items section header, tap the overflow menu [...] button, and tap Select. In the list select the desired items. Again, on the Delivery Items section header, tap the overflow menu button and tap the desired option. 3. Subtask: Enter delivery details. 4. In the Delivery Items section, double-tap the item. Note: On a mobile phone, tap the list entry. 5. In the Delivered Quantity field, change the quantity. 6. Subtask: Add reason. 7. Tap the Reason field. 8. In the Look for Reason field, to find the desired reason code, you can:Type the reason code. The matching reason codes are shown.Tap the search icon. All available reason codes are shown. 9. Select the desired reason code. 10. On the Delivery Item page, tap Save and tap Go Back (<). Note: On a Windows device or browser, tap Save & Close. Notes You can also set the item delivery status on the Delivery Item page. To do so, tap the floating action button and select the desired option. Note: On a Windows device or browser, on the taskbar, select the desired option. Pick up items Pick up items In the Pickup Items list, you can find the items to be picked up for the transport task. For each item set the pickup status: Picked: The item is picked up. Skipped: The item pickup is skipped. If a picked up item has a fuel tank or a meter, you can read and register the fuel or meter readings. When you have changed and saved the pickup status of an item, it is synchronized to the related work order line in D365 F&SCM. Note: If you are working offline, the item pickup status is not synchronized until you are back online. Procedure 1. On the Transport Booking page, open the Pickup Items tab. 2. Do the pickup and set each item status accordingly. If you have:Picked up the item, select the item and tap Mark as Picked.Not picked up the item, select the item and tap Mark as Skipped. Note: On a mobile phone, tap the overflow menu [...] button of the item, and tap the desired option.You can mark several selected items as picked up or skipped at once. Select the desired items and, on the Pickup Items section header, tap the desired option. Note: On a mobile phone, on the Pickup Items section header, tap the overflow menu [...] button, and tap Select. In the list select the desired items. Again, on the Pickup Items section header, tap the overflow menu button and tap the desired option. 3. Subtask: Enter quantity picked up. 4. In the Pickup Items section, double-tap the item. 5. You can change the quantity picked up of an item. For example, the quantity to be picked up is 3. However, on pickup one item is still in use. You leave it at the customer site. In this case, change the quantity picked up to 2. In the Quantity Collected field, change the quantity. Note: The meaning of the values in the other quantity fields:Quantity (Available For Return): Total quantity of the item at the customer site. This is the maximum quantity you can pick up.Quantity To Collect: The scheduled quantity to be picked up. 6. Subtask: Add reason. 7. Tap the Reason field. 8. In the Look for Reason field, to find the desired reason code, you can:Type the reason code. The matching reason codes are shown.Tap the search icon. All available reason codes are shown. 9. Select the desired reason code. 10. Select the Count At Warehouse check box. 11. Tap Save. 12. Subtask: Register fuel or meter readings. 13. If a picked up item has a fuel tank or a meter, you can read and register the fuel or meter readings. Open the Fuel/Meter Readings tab. Note: The tab shows up to four registered fuel/meter readings. If there are more, tap See more to see all registered fuel/meter readings. 14. On the grid header, tap New Fuel/Meter Note. 15. In the Type field, select the reading type to register: Fuel or Meter. 16. Fill in the fields. 17. Tap Save and tap Go Back (<). Note: On a Windows device or browser, tap Save & Close. 18. Tap Go Back ( Finish transport task Finish transport task To complete a transport task, get a sign-off from your contact at the customer site. Before your contact signs off the transport task, you can review and show the: Transport task information. Delivered items. Notes and attachments of the transport task. Note: You can complete a transport task with or without a signature provided. You can only complete a transport task if these conditions are met: The transport task status is In Progress. Each item to deliver is either Delivered or Skipped. If you complete a transport task: In the Rental Mobile Operations - Transportation app, the transport task is moved to 'Inactive Transport Bookings'. In D365 F&SCM, the related work order line is set to 'Completed'. If a signature is provided, the signature is stored as an image in SharePoint. In D365 F&SCM, an attachment is added to the related work order line. This attachment is of type URL and its URL refers to the signature image as stored in SharePoint. Note: If you are working offline, the actions for which an online connection is required are only done until you are back online. Procedure 1. On the Transport Bookings page, tap the floating action button > Summary. Note: On a Windows device or browser, on the taskbar, click Summary. 2. Review the information on the summary and show it your customer contact for sign off. 3. Subtask: Sign off with a signature. 4. Let the customer contact provide a signature. Note: If the signature isn't right, tap Clean, and redo it. 5. Tap Confirm. Note: As a result, the transport task is completed. 6. Subtask: Sign off without a signature. 7. Select the Skip Signature check box. Note: As a result, the transport task is completed. End End Delivery Pickup

In D365 F&SCM, transport tasks can be assigned to you. The transport tasks, which are assigned to you, are shown in your Rental Mobile Operations - Transportation app.

To start a transport task, first find the desired transport task. You can find transport tasks in several ways:

  • Calendar: You can find transport tasks based on a selected date, week, or month.
  • Grid or list: You can scroll the assigned transport tasks in a grid or list view.
  • Search: Type (a part of) the name of the transport task that you want to find.

Note: On the Active Transport Bookings view, only transport tasks are shown with status 'Released' or 'In progress'. Start transport task

Before you start working on a transport task, start the transport task.

When you start a transport task, and the transport task status is 'Released', the transport task status is changed to 'In Progress'. Also the related work order line status in D365 F&SCM is set to 'In progress'. Note: If you are working offline, the work order line status is not changed until you are back online.

Deliver items

In the Delivery Items list, you can find the items to be delivered for the transport task.

For each item set the delivery status:

  • Delivered: The item is delivered.
  • Skipped: The item delivery is skipped.

When you have changed and saved the delivery status of an item, it is synchronized to the related work order line in D365 F&SCM. Note: If you are working offline, the item delivery status is not synchronized until you are back online.

Pick up items

In the Pickup Items list, you can find the items to be picked up for the transport task.

For each item set the pickup status:

  • Picked: The item is picked up.
  • Skipped: The item pickup is skipped.

If a picked up item has a fuel tank or a meter, you can read and register the fuel or meter readings.

When you have changed and saved the pickup status of an item, it is synchronized to the related work order line in D365 F&SCM. Note: If you are working offline, the item pickup status is not synchronized until you are back online.

Finish transport task

To complete a transport task, get a sign-off from your contact at the customer site.

Before your contact signs off the transport task, you can review and show the:

  • Transport task information.
  • Delivered items.
  • Notes and attachments of the transport task.

Note:

  • You can complete a transport task with or without a signature provided.
  • You can only complete a transport task if these conditions are met:
    • The transport task status is In Progress.
    • Each item to deliver is either Delivered or Skipped.

If you complete a transport task:

  • In the Rental Mobile Operations - Transportation app, the transport task is moved to 'Inactive Transport Bookings'.
  • In D365 F&SCM, the related work order line is set to 'Completed'.
  • If a signature is provided, the signature is stored as an image in SharePoint.
  • In D365 F&SCM, an attachment is added to the related work order line. This attachment is of type URL and its URL refers to the signature image as stored in SharePoint.

Note: If you are working offline, the actions for which an online connection is required are only done until you are back online.
