Validate a journal before posting when you want to review line-specific errors and correct them in advance. You can also post without running this action because posting performs validation again.
Note
Validating a journal identifies errors but does not create a new staging journal. The system creates a new staging journal only when you post with Transfer failed lines set to Yes.
Steps
Go to Modules > Engineering change management > Periodic > PLM Integration > Staging journal.
Select the journal to validate.
Review the following fields before validation:
Item ID
Version ID
Scenario
Interface status
Journal status (must be Open)
Select Validate journal.
Review the validation message. If the journal contains errors, the message explains that you can transfer failed lines during posting.
Note
Each validated journal line shows OK or Fail. Failed lines include a message that identifies the validation issue.
Click Lines. The PLM Journal Lines page opens with item-level data.
Review the Journal line status and Journal line message.
For a failed product, review related tabs such as BOM lines and Route to locate the affected record.
Correct errors if needed and repeat validation.
