Use the Split action when part of the ordered quantity can be fulfilled with the current item and the remaining quantity requires the item associated with the To version.
Steps
Go to Product information management > Engineering change management > Engineering change orders.
Open a released ECO you want to review.
On the Action Pane, in the Business impact group, select Open impact workspace.
The workspace opens for the selected ECO.
Note
If the ECO has no lines yet, the button is unavailable. Add at least one affected product first.
In the Sales orders section, locate the affected sales order line.
Select Split.
The Split pane opens on the right.
Review the sales order, item number, customer, net amount, and ordered quantity.
In the Quantity to keep on current line field, enter the quantity that will remain on the original line.
Note
The split validates against the reserved quantity on the line. You can split only the quantity that is not reserved. If part of the line is reserved, reduce or remove the reservation before splitting that quantity.
In the Quantity to move to new line field, enter the quantity that will move to the new line.
The two quantities must equal the original ordered quantity.
Review the Existing delivery date.
In the New line delivery date field, enter the delivery date for the new line.
Select Split to create the new sales order line.
To close the pane without splitting the line, select Cancel.
After the split is complete:
The original line retains the quantity entered in Quantity to keep on current line.
A new line is created for the remaining quantity.
The new line uses the specified delivery date.
The Action status changes to Split.
Note
You can't split a fully reserved sales order line. Remove or adjust the reservation before you try again. For a partially reserved line, the quantity moved to the new line can't exceed the unreserved quantity.
Refresh the impact results if the new line doesn't appear automatically.
