Track actions in the change log - Impact workspace

Prev Next

The Change log page records the actions you take in the Impact workspace for an ECO line. For each action, you can see who took it and when. You also see which record changed, with the old and new values. The change log gives you an audit trail of how the impact of an engineering change order (ECO) was resolved.

What is recorded

Each time an action button updates a record, an entry is added to the change log. This applies to these sections:

  • Sales orders: For example, Block order, Split, or Replace.

  • Production orders: For example, Hold, Unblock, Estimate, Reset status, Update BOM, or Update route.

  • Kanban jobs: For example, Schedule, Revert status, BOM version, Update picking list, or Delete kanbans.

  • Purchase orders: For example, Cancel line, Amend qty, or Replace.

  • Planned orders: For example, Firm, Postpone, or Delete.

These are not recorded:

  • Changes made outside the Impact workspace, for example on the Sales order or Production order page.

  • The Inventory and supply section. It only shows data and has no actions.

  • The Dimensions button. It only changes which columns are shown.

Steps

  1. Go to Product information management > Engineering change management > Engineering change orders.

  2. Open the ECO you want to review.

  3. On the Action Pane, in the Business impact group, select Open impact workspace.
