Postpone a planned order - Impact workspace

Prev Next

Use Postpone to change the requirement date of a planned order. For example, postpone the order when supply should align with the ECO effective date or the availability of the To version.

Steps

  1. Go to Product information management > Engineering change management > Engineering change orders.

  2. Open a released ECO you want to review.

  3. On the Action Pane, in the Business impact group, select Open impact workspace.

The workspace opens for the selected ECO.

    Note

If the ECO has no lines yet, the button is unavailable. Add at least one affected product first.

  4. In the Planned orders section, locate the affected planned order.

  5. Select Postpone.

The Postpone pane opens on the right.

  6. Review the planned order number and item number.

  7. In the Delivery date to replace field, select the new requirement date.

  8. Review any warnings about affected demand or supply coverage.

  9. Select Postpone to change the date.

To close the pane without changing the date, select Cancel.

After the date is changed:

  • The Requirement date shows the new date.

  • The Action status changes to Postponed.

Review the supply impact

Postponing an order can leave demand without supply during the period between the original and new requirement dates.

If the pane identifies affected sales orders or other demand, review the warning before continuing. Arrange alternative supply if the date change would cause a shortage or delivery delay.
