When you post a PLM staging journal, the system validates the translations and writes them to the central product translations table, storing one record per part number and language code. Complete the following steps to post the journal and confirm that the translations are saved.
Steps
Go to Engineering change management > PLM integration > PLM staging journals.
The PLM staging journals list page opens.Locate and select the required staging journal.
Click Lines. The PLM Journal Lines page opens with item-level data.
Review the translations on the Translations tab of each relevant journal line.
Click Post journal to post the staging journal. The system validates and saves the translations.
Go to Product information management > Products > Released products.
Locate and open the relevant released product.
Open the Translations form and confirm that the translations were saved correctly.
Note
If the import file does not contain translation data, the system does not process translations.
If a language code is not enabled in Organization administration > Languages, the system skips that translation and records a warning in the Infolog.
The Infolog shows which translations were added and which existing translations were updated.
