Use PTC Windchill integration

You can use PTC Windchill to create parts and to change parts. When finished, you can send new parts and change notices to a distribution target to be picked up by D365 FO for further processing.

This section explains how to send a new part or a change notice on an existing part to a distribution target as defined in PTC Windchill.

Before you can send part data, make sure the applicable distribution target is associated to the part.

Browse to the item which needs to be sent to D365 FO. 3. Click the Related Objects tab > Expand the Distribution Targets section. 4. Check if the correct distribution target is associated. In this example, one distribution target is associated (19. ToD365). Note: The number and name of the distribution target are likely to be different in your environment of PTC Windchill. A distribution target is a combination of a location and formatting rules to which PTC Windchill data is sent. D365 FO takes the PTC Windchill data from this location for further processing in D365 FO.You can associate a distribution target with an item. Browse to the part to be sent to D365 FO. 3. Click Actions >click Associate Distribution Targets. 4. Click Search. 5. Select the applicable distribution target (in this example 19. In this example, one part is revised within a change notice. Note: In this topic, we only revise one part. 2. Browse to the part to be changed. 3. Select the part > click Actions > click New > click New Change Notice. 4. In the textbox Name type a value > click Next. 5. Click Edit. 6. Click Next. 7. Select the part > click Revise. Note: In this topic we only revise one part. 8. Click OK. 9. Click Finish. 10. Click Finish. 11. Click Submit Now. Note: By submitting the change notice, the change notice is available for an engineer to apply the changes described in the change notice.
