Life Sciences Supply Chain Management module allows users to print product labels:
Upon registration of material in inventory (for example, from a purchase order or batch order/production order) via Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain Management client, by clicking the Print labels button in the Registration form for batches and sub-batches with Receipt status set to Registered.
Note
Label printing upon registration via mobile device is part of the Life Sciences Warehouse Management module.
For an existing batch with available on-hand physical inventory, by clicking the Print labels button in the Batches form.
For an existing batch with available on-hand physical inventory, by clicking the Print labels button in the Sub batches form for any sub-batch with available on-hand physical inventory.
When clicking the Print labels button, the system displays a dialog form with the following information:
Printer name - This is the printer being used to print the label. A default printer may be populated depending on the Document routing configuration, but users can select a different value.
Number of copies - This is the number of labels to be printed. A default number may be populated depending on the Document routing configuration, but users can select a different value.
Print reason - This is the reason code for the print operation. Depending on the Print reason parameter in the Warehouse management parameters form, selecting a value can either be optional or mandatory.
Layout ID - This is the layout to be used to print the label, including the list of information that should be displayed. A default layout might be populated depending on the Document routing configuration, but users can select a different value.
Once the information is confirmed, the system generates a .DAT, .PAS, .CSV or .XML file, according to the configuration, and drops it to the folder that is read by the external Label Printing software.
A record for each printed label is stored in the Labels form (Warehouse management > Inquiries and reports > Labels).
