Life Sciences Warehouse Management enables the print of license plate labels to identify the handling unit (for example, container, pallet) that carries the received material.
Automatic license plate label print upon purchase receipt via mobile device
It is possible to enable an automatic license plate label print upon purchase order receipt via mobile device by updating the following configurations:
One Document routing record (Warehouse management > Setup > Document routing > Document routing) the Work order type must be Purchase orders for the warehouse, with the Print for LP parameter set to Yes.
The Mobile device menu item (Warehouse management > Setup > Mobile device > Mobile device menu items) used for the product receipt must have the Generate license plate and Print LP label parameters set to Yes.
During the receipt process via mobile device, the system will automatically generate a label for each received license plate after the registration process. Label information such as Printer, Layout ID, and Number of copies are automatically retrieved from the configured Document routing.
All records corresponding to a printed license plate label are logged in the Labels form (Warehouse management > Inquiries and reports > Labels).
Manual license plate label print
It is also possible to print a license plate label via Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain Management client by clicking the Print labels button in the License plates form (Warehouse management > Setup > Warehouse > License plates). When clicking the button, the system displays a dialog form with the following information:
Printer name – defaulted depending on the Document routing configuration, but users can select a different value.
Number of copies – defaulted depending on the Document routing configuration, but users can select a different value.
Print reason – reason code for the print operation. Depending on the Print reason parameter in the Warehouse management parameters form, selecting a value can either be optional or mandatory.
Layout ID – defaulted depending on the Document routing configuration, but users can select a different value.
Label print during work execution process
It is possible to print the license plate label via mobile device upon work execution process. The printed label is related to the target license plate that is assigned to the work. The following configurations are required:
Enable the Print for LP parameter in the Document routing form (Warehouse management > Setup > Document routing) for the relevant Work order types associated with picking processes. This setup defines the default layout, printer and number of copies for the LP label.
Enable the Print LP label parameter in the Mobile device menu items form (Warehouse management > Setup > Mobile device > Mobile device menu items) for picking processes. If enabled, the license plate label will be printed during the work execution, between the last pick and the first put.
Check the Optional LP label print parameter in the Mobile device menu item form (Warehouse management > Setup > Mobile device > Mobile device menu items) for picking process. If disabled, the license plate label print will be performed automatically by the system. If enabled, the system will display a confirmation dialog, allowing users to either confirm or skip the license plate label print. If skipped, the work execution process continues without generating a license plate label for the target license plate.
Label records are generated in the Labels Users can reprint these labels using the Reprint button, ensuring that the label associated with the specific target license plate can be reproduced if necessary.
Exceptional scenarios for printing during work execution process
Multiple Pick/Put steps: The license plate label will be printed between the last pick and the first put step of the first Pick/Put operation.
Full functionality: If the Full functionality is used during a picking order, the system will print the license plate label immediately after the Full button is pressed. This label will contain information relevant to the target license plate, based solely on the items picked up to that point.

User Group Picking: A license plate label will be printed for each executed work, as each work has its own license plate.
