Inventory transactions update

Prev Next

The purpose of the weighing process is to accurately measure the quantity processed in the following operations. Therefore, the Life Sciences Weighing and Dispensing module allows the automatic update of the quantity in the original order and the relevant inventory transactions based on the weighed quantity after dispensing.

The following fields are updated/populated:

  • Transfer order lines > Quantity if the original order is a transfer order.

  • Sales order lines > Quantity if the original order is a sales order.

  • Formula lines > Estimated and Remaining quantity if the original order is a batch order and the request is linked to a dispensing order.

  • Picking list > Journal lines > Consumption if the original order is a batch order and the request is linked to a production picking list journal. In this case, a new production picking list journal is automatically created, and the Consumption field is populated as the weighed quantity.

The quantity in the Inventory transactions is updated accordingly:

  • If the weighing process is based on the dispensing order, the quantity is Reserved physical. The reserved inventory dimensions depend on the reservation hierarchy of the item (for example, the target sub-batch is reserved if the reservation is at the sub-batch level).

  • If the weighing process is based on the production picking list journal, the quantity is Picked or Deducted based on the value of the Automatic picking list journal posting parameter (Inventory management > Setup > Inventory and warehouse management parameters > Life Sciences Weighing and Dispensing). This means that the quantity is automatically deducted from the inventory on hand after the dispensing operation.
