Life Sciences Supply Chain Management enables the calculation of the due date for raw material picking works to ensure that materials are available in the production location when needed.
At the route level, it is possible to define the lead time for each operation in the Warehouse lead time field, which defines the hours required to have materials in the production location before the scheduled start date and time of the operation.
In case of new operations, values are inherited from the Default warehouse lead time if the Due date by operation parameter is enabled (Production control parameters form).
The Warehouse lead time field becomes non-editable if the route is approved and the Block editing parameter is enabled in the Production control parameters form.
Due dates are calculated upon batch/production order scheduling or planned order firm, based on the following logic:
If the Due date by operation parameter is enabled:
Job scheduling:
The Due date field is calculated as the scheduled start date and time of the relevant job which Task type is Process minus the warehouse lead time assigned to the relevant operation.
The due date is then inherited to the relevant batch order route operations (Production route form), and is editable.Note
If jobs with both Process and Setup Task type are available for an operation, the due date is calculated based on the scheduled start date of the job with Task type = Process and is inherited in the one with Task type = Setup.
If the job with Task type = Process is not available, the due date is calculated based on the scheduled start date of the job with Task type = Setup.
The Due date field is blank for jobs with other task types.
Operation scheduling:
Since jobs are not generated, the Due date field in the Production route form is calculated as the scheduled start date of the relevant operation minus the warehouse lead time assigned to it.
If the Due date by operation parameter is disabled, the Due date field remains blank.
If the orders are rescheduled by Gantt chart, it is possible to recalculate the due dates by clicking the Recalculate due dates button
Note
The Recalculate due dates button is grayed out if the order is in Created, Estimated, or Ended status.
Due dates are inherited in the raw material work upon work creation, and they can be printed in the Work report.
If the Due date by operation parameter (in the Production control parameters form) is disabled, the raw material picking work due date is calculated as the batch/production order scheduled start date minus the default warehouse lead time defined in the Production control parameters form.
