Controlled movement matrix

Prev Next

Manufacturers of medicinal products, pharmaceutical importers, contractors, wholesalers, and community and hospital pharmacies must ensure that only materials approved after quality analysis and controls can be stored in critical locations such as production, packing, or shipping areas. Moreover, companies may dedicate specific locations or warehouses for storing quarantined or rejected material.

To cover these requirements, Life Sciences Warehouse Management allows configuring the list of batch disposition codes to be controlled against the properties of the destination locations in the Controlled movement matrix form (Warehouse management > Setup > Warehouse > Controlled movement matrix).

Users can specify the following information:

  • The Batch disposition code for which the movement is controlled.

  • The Site in which the control is applied.

  • The Warehouse in which the control is applied.

  • The Check method to apply:

    • Warning only: During the inventory transaction, the system checks if the destination location supports the batch disposition code of the moved material. If the combination is not valid, the system returns a warning message, but the user can complete the transaction.

    • Not allowed: During the inventory transaction, the system checks if the destination location supports the batch disposition code of the moved material. If the combination is not valid, the system returns an error message and the transaction is aborted.

  • The destination locations in which the control is applied. The locations are identified by the criteria available by clicking the Edit query button.

Example

The Controlled movement matrix is configured as follows:

  • Batch disposition code: “QUAR”

  • Site: “1”

  • Warehouse: “01”

  • Check method: “Not allowed”

  • Edit query > Zone ID: “SHIP”

In this scenario, the system will prevent users from moving batches with the Batch disposition code set to “QUAR” in all the locations with Zone ID set to “SHIP”.

This functionality applies to all types of movements, both via client and mobile device.
