Life Sciences Quality Control & Assurance enables the definition of a calculation formula for test group lines (that is, a mathematical formula used to calculate the test results based on operations and other test outcomes). The Calculation formula field is available in the Test tab of the test group lines. A default formula is assigned and inherited from the selected Test method.
For tests that have a Calculation formula defined, it is possible to click the Check formula button. The Check formula form allows the simulation of the formula calculation using the test Standard values and checks for syntax errors (for example, incomplete formulas like “@Potency@/10*”.).
Example
A test group is available with the following tests:
Test “Potency”. The Standard value in the specifications is “250”.
Test “Potency%” with Calculation formula set as “@Potency@/10*4”.
The user can open the Check formula form for test “Potency%” and click the Validate button. The system returns “100” as a result (calculated using “250” from the “Potency” test).
