Life Sciences Supply Chain Management allows users to generate the batch number at the project item forecast before starting the manufacturing process.
The batch number can be generated and assigned by clicking the Assign batch numbers button in the Item forecasts form (Project management and accounting > Inquiries and reports > Forecasts inquiries > All project forecasts). The system creates new batch number(s) according to the Batch number group set for the item(s) for the selected line(s) and fills the related Assigned batch number field(s).
For items without a defined Batch number group or where the number sequence is set to Manual, the system asks the user to choose the batch number to assign among the existing ones for that item.
Users cannot manually edit the Assigned batch number field but can clear it for the selected lines by clicking the Clear assigned batch numbers button.
When the forecast lines are transferred to item requirement via the Create item requirement functionality, the Assigned batch number field values are inherited to the Batch number field for the item requirement.
