You can maintain a business object by activating a default maintenance plan. The three plan types are:
Time-based – Perform recurring maintenance on a time schedule.
Consumption-based – Perform maintenance based on usage data from business object meters.
Time and consumption-based – Combine time and usage for maintenance planning.
Run a periodic job to create time-based work orders. This job checks the recurrence and specified timeframe to generate orders.
For consumption-based plans, the meter values trigger maintenance work orders when usage exceeds a set threshold.
All work orders created through the service and maintenance module are recorded in the maintenance log. This log provides full visibility into all maintenance activities.
