When you activate a new data entry workflow template version, the previous version becomes inactive.
However, open data entry workflows can still exist for the previous version.
To apply the updated template version to these open workflows, you can migrate them to the new template version.
As a result of the migration:
Note: The cancelled workflow might already include completed tasks. However, to ensure consistency with the active template version, tasks must be redone, even if data was previously entered, checked for duplicates, or approved.
1. | Go to Data entry workflow > Design > Data entry workflow templates. |
2. | In the list, find and select the desired data entry workflow template. |
3. | On the Action Pane, click Versions. |
4. | Click Migrate open workflows. |
  |
Note: You can only migrate open workflows to an active data entry workflow template version. Therefore, this option is only available for active data entry workflow template versions. |
5. | On the dialog, click Yes. |
6. | On the Migration results page, review the open workflows that are migrated to the active data entry workflow template. |
  |
Note: If the Migration status field shows Has error, the workflow is not migrated. You can check the Error message field to see why the workflow is not migrated. |
7. | Close the page. |
Define the Workflow migration session number sequence in the Data entry workflow parameters before starting a workflow migration. This number sequence is used to create IDs for workflow migration sessions.
