Assessing every record on each run can be slow on large tables. Use filters to process only selected records or only records that changed recently, for example after a data import or a cleanup project.
Prerequisites
Data Quality Check is enabled on the Data Quality Setup page.
One or more Data Policies are Active, with validation rules or duplicate checks configured.
Records exist for the selected table.
Steps
Press Alt+Q to open the Tell Me search.
Enter Data Quality Assessment and select the page from the results.
In the Run field, select Specific Policy or All Active Policies.
Select the Policy ID or the entity you want to assess.
In the Check Type field, select Validation, Duplicate check, or Both.
Define one or more filters to narrow the records processed:
Created After Date – process only records created after the date you enter.
From Date and Till Date – process only records within the date range you enter.
Select Run Assessment.
Results
Business Central processes only the records that match your filter criteria and stores the results under a new Assessment Run ID. For example, when you set a Created After Date of 01-06-2026 for Customer records, the assessment ignores all records created on or before that date.
