Run a Data Quality Assessment

Prev Next

Run an assessment to check existing Customer, Vendor, or Contact records against one policy or all active policies.

Prerequisites

  • Data Quality Check is enabled on the Data Quality Setup.

  • One or more Data Policies exist and are Active.

  • Validation rules, duplicate checks, or both are configured on those policies.

  • Master data records exist for the entities you want to assess.

Steps

  1. Press Alt+Q to open the Tell Me search.

  2. Enter Data Quality Assessment and select the page from the results.

  3. In the Run field, select the scope:

    • Specific Policy – assess a single policy.

    • All Active Policies – assess every active policy.

  4. If you selected Specific Policy, select the Policy ID. Business Central automatically fills in the Table No. and Table Caption. These fields are read-only.

  5. If you selected All Active Policies, optionally restrict the run to one entity: Customer, Vendor, Contact, or All.

  6. In the Check Type field, select the checks to run: Validation, Duplicate check, or Both.

  7. Optionally, apply record filters to limit the records processed. For details, see Run an assessment for specific or recently changed records.

  8. Select Run Assessment.

Results

Business Central creates a new assessment run, processes the applicable records, and displays a confirmation message with the Assessment Run ID. Any failed validations and detected duplicates are stored as result lines that you can open from Validation History.

Note

To run the assessment automatically on a schedule instead of immediately, see Schedule a Data Quality Assessment with the job queue.
