Set up the SMTP Writer endpoint

The SMTP Writer endpoint is deprecated. The Email Writer endpoint replaces it. See: EMAILWRITER endpoint.

Use the SMTP Writer endpoint to relay notifications to an SMTP server.

Steps

1. Create a notification and insert the element SMTPWRITER.

2. On the elements line, select Edit.

3. On the SMTP Writer Setup page, fill in the following fields:

   Field	Description
   SMTP Server	Specify the SMTP server address.
   SMTP Server Port	Specify the SMTP port number.
   Authentication	Specify the authentication type.
   User ID	Specify the user credentials if you selected authentication type Basic.
   Password	Specify the user credentials if you selected authentication type Basic.
   Secure Connection	Select this field if the SMTP uses a secure connection.

4. Select OK.
