Use accrual journals to post to accrual and general ledger accounts. Depending on the type of entry being made, an accrual journal may also post to other accounts such as customer and vendor accounts. Posting with an accrual journal always creates entries on associated general ledger accounts.
Accrual journal templates exist for the Accrual Journal and the Scheduled Accrual Journal. Each accrual journal template has a separate page with particular functions and the fields needed to support those functions. Several standard accrual journal templates are set up by default, but you can create new templates.
If you need several journals of a certain type (for example, an accrual journal for each employee who manages accruals) create several accrual journal batches for a journal template.
