Set up accrual journal templates

A template is a predefined layout for a journal. The template contains information about trace codes, reports, and number series.

The program automatically creates an accrual journal template the first time you open the Accrual Journal page. You can set up additional journal templates.

Steps

  1. In the search box, enter Accrual Journal Templates, and then choose the related link.

  2. On the Home tab, in the New group, select New.

  3. Fill in these fields:

Field

Description

Code

A code to uniquely identify the accrual journal template.

Description

A description for this journal template.

Type

The type of journal, corresponding to the type of rebate posted: Accrual (rebate or commission calculated based on actual documents) or Scheduled Accrual (rebate or commission using scheduled accruals or payments).

Recurring

Select when the journal is a recurring journal.

No. Series

The number series for entering the lines of the journal.

Posting No. Series

The number series to use when posting the journal lines, if needed.

Source Code

The source code to use when posting the lines.

Reason Code

The reason code to use when posting the lines.
