What’s new

New or changed features in Release 28.3.126757.0 (August 2026) Data Quality Studio of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

Data Quality Assessment for existing data

Data Quality Studio now checks the master data that already exists in your Business Central company, not only the records that users create or edit. You run a Data Quality Assessment to apply the validation rules and duplicate checks of your active policies to existing Customer, Vendor, and Contact records. Each run stores every issue it finds so that you can review, correct, accept, and rerun at your own pace.

Key capabilities:

  • Run an assessment for a Specific Policy or for All Active Policies, and limit it to Customer, Vendor, Contact, or All entities.

  • Choose the checks to run with the Check Type field: Validation, Duplicate Check, or Both.

  • Filter the records with Created After, Date From, and Date Till to process only new or recently changed records.

  • Schedule an assessment through the job queue to run automatically at a defined frequency.

  • Track each run with a unique Assessment Run ID and monitor data quality trends in the Validation History.

See also Data Quality Assessment.

Review and resolve assessment results

Data Quality Studio records the outcome of every assessment so that you can act on each issue. You open the results from the Validation History, drill into the details, and resolve each issue.

Key capabilities:

  • Open the Quality Report Exception Log to review each failed validation and duplicate line for a run.

  • Review the Duplicate Result Details to compare a source record with its duplicate candidate side by side.

  • Correct a validation failure directly from the log with Open Source Record, which opens the Customer Card, Vendor Card, or Contact Card.

  • Accept an issue as an intentional deviation with Accept Deviation, and change the status of several lines at once.

  • Rerun an assessment with the latest data to refresh the counts and update the status of each issue to Resolved, Open, or Accepted Deviation.

See also Review duplicate result details and Correct validation and duplicate failures.

One active duplicate check per policy

A data quality policy now supports only one active duplicate check at a time, which keeps duplicate detection unambiguous for each policy. When you add or enable a duplicate check and another one is already active, Business Central prevents the action and displays the message "Only one active Duplicate Check is allowed per Data Policy." To switch to a different duplicate check, deactivate the current one first, and then activate the new one.
