Genesis uses a program called ESHAPort to import data into the database. An ESHAPort file (.epf) exports data from one system into a text file, then imports the data from that text file into Genesis.
The ESHAPort files necessary to transfer data from Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central to Genesis are developed and available as part of Food Manufacturing & Distribution. Because separate processes must be defined for different types of records (such as ingredients and recipes) as well as different types of action (such as creating new records or updating existing ones), several different ESHAPort files run with every data transfer. You do not need to run these files manually, as Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is configured to automatically run the appropriate ESHAPort files when you instruct it to export data.
For the most part, the ESHAPort file settings are correctly configured and should not be modified. However, because every company's network environment is different, you need to point both the ESHAPort files and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central to the directory where the text files containing the exported data are stored.
