Create versions of package BOMs

Create new versions of package BOMs when, for example, a component is replaced by a cheaper or better-quality item, or when a customer requires a special version of a product.

Steps

  1. In the search box, enter Package BOMs, and then choose the related link.

  2. Select the package BOM that will have a new version.

  3. On the Versions FastTab, choose New Version to open an empty package BOM version card.

    The newly created version is automatically assigned the status New.

    The time validity of the version is specified by the Starting Date field.

  4. If desired, copy the data from a previous version to the new version.

  5. Fill in the fields of the new package BOM version.

  6. When you are done, change the Status field to Certified.
