When working with long package BOMs or making slight changes between versions, it is useful to copy an existing version of a package BOM into a new version or into an existing version. Existing information on the lines is overwritten in the destination version.
When you use the Copy BOM Version function, a list of versions to select from appears.
Steps
In the search box, enter Package BOMs, and then choose the related link.
Select the package BOM for which you will copy versions.
If you want to create a new version, follow the procedure for how to create new versions. Fill in the new version number before you copy. If you want to copy to an existing version, verify that this version can be overwritten and make sure the Status field is not set to Certified.
On the Package BOM version card, on the Actions tab, in the Functions group, choose Copy Package BOM Version.
On the Prod. BOM Version List page, select a version and choose OK.
The lines of the selected version are copied into the current version, where you can further edit them.
Change the Status field to Certified.
