You can create a blank asset and then use the Copy Asset batch job to copy information from an existing asset. This is useful when setting up several assets that have similar information.
Steps
In the search box, enter Assets, and then choose the related link.
On the Home tab, in the New group, choose New.
In the No. field, enter a number for the asset.
Alternatively, if you have set up number series for assets in the Maintenance Setup page, press Enter and the program enters the next available number.
On the Actions tab, in the General group, choose Copy Asset.
On the Options FastTab, fill in the fields.
Choose OK to start the batch job.
When the batch job finishes, the asset information specified in the request form is copied to the new asset card.
