Add transport order cost lines

Prev Next

You can add transport costs and additional surcharges to a transport order. When a transport order is released, a check is made whether transport costs were added. Based on the Cost Warning setting in the Transport and Deliveries setup, a warning or error appears when no cost lines are found. Transport order cost lines can also be added from the delivery trip.

Steps

  1. Choose the  Lightbulb that opens the Tell Me feature icon (Alt+Q), enter Transport Orders, and click the relevant link.

  2. Select a transport order from the list and click Edit to open it.

  3. Click Transport Cost in the Home group to open the Transport Costs page.

  4. Complete the following fields and click Refresh Transport Costs:

    Field

    Description

    Type

Specify the type of cost line: Cost Component or Cost Component Template.

    No.

Specify the cost component code or the cost component template code.

    Amount

Based on the type: when Cost Component, enter the amount manually. When Cost Component Template, the amount is calculated automatically as the sum of all components defined in the template.

    Currency Code

Specify the currency code for the cost components. When left blank, the local currency is used.

    G/L Account

Not editable. Contains the G/L account used when creating a purchase invoice line.

    Note

    • When a cost component template is added, the calculation runs based on the components in the cost overview.

    • When a cost component template is added before the applicable cost components, the calculation does not start automatically.

Result

The Refresh Transport Costs function:

  • Recalculates all present cost component templates. Use this when transport costs change after a cost template has been added.

  • Runs automatically when a transport order is released to ensure all available transport costs are calculated.
