Fixed-price projects must be linked to a project contract. This contract defines the terms agreed upon with one or more funding sources. A funding source is usually one customer but can include several customers, grants, or self-funded departments.

Create a project contract to define the agreement terms with one or more funding sources.
Each fixed-price project must be linked to a project contract. A funding source is usually a customer, but can also be a grant or internal funding from a business unit.
Procedure
1. Go to Project management and accounting > Projects > Project contracts.
2. Click New.
3. In the Name field, type a value.
4. In the Funding type field, select an option.
5. In the Funding source field, enter or select a value.
6. In the Sales currency field, enter or select a value.
7. Click OK.
8. Click Save.

When you create a fixed-price project, the system automatically generates a fixed-price revenue estimate project.
For a fixed-price project, this setup is required:
A fixed-price billing method
An associated project
At least one milestone defined on the Invoice schedule tab of the Project contract line page
Procedure
1. Go to Project management and accounting > Projects > All projects.
2. Click New.
3. In the Project type field, select an option.
4. In the Project name field, type a value.
5. In the Project group field, enter or select a value.
6. In the Project contract ID field, enter or select a value.
7. Click Create project.
8. Click Save.

Set up billing rules on the contract to control which project transactions are included in invoices.This ensures that only valid and approved transactions are posted for billing.
Procedure
1. Go to Project management and accounting > Projects > Project contracts.
2. In the list, find and select the desired record.
3. In the list, click the link in the selected row.
4. Click Add.
5. In the Line type field, select an option.
6. In the Description field, type a value.
7. Expand the Project section.
8. In the list, mark the selected row.
9. Click Add.
10. Click Chargeable categories.
11. In the list, find and select the desired record.
12. Click Add.
13. Close the page.
14. Click Save.
15. Close the page.
