Use Estimate after the production BOM or route changes. Estimation recalculates the expected material, route, overhead, and production costs.
Steps
Go to Product information management > Engineering change management > Engineering change orders.
Open a released ECO you want to review.
On the Action Pane, in the Business impact group, select Open impact workspace.
The workspace opens for the selected ECO.
Note
If the ECO has no lines yet, the button is unavailable. Add at least one affected product first.
In the Production orders section, locate the affected production order.
Select Estimate.
The Estimate pane opens on the right.
On the Overview tab, review the selected production order and estimation parameters.
Select Default values if you need to restore the default estimation parameters.
On the General tab, review the available estimation options.
Expand Run in the background if you want to run the estimation as a batch task.
Set Late selection to Yes only when the batch process should evaluate the selection criteria at runtime.
Late selection doesn't control which cost records the estimation uses.
Select OK to run the estimation.
To close the pane without running the estimation, select Cancel.
After estimation is complete:
The estimated production costs are recalculated.
The Action status changes to Re-estimated.
