Place a production order on hold - Impact workspace

Prev Next

Use Hold when work on an affected production order must pause. For example, place an order on hold while waiting for an engineering decision, an updated BOM or route, or the resolution of a material shortage.

Steps

  1. Go to Product information management > Engineering change management > Engineering change orders.

  2. Open a released ECO you want to review.

  3. On the Action Pane, in the Business impact group, select Open impact workspace.

The workspace opens for the selected ECO.

    Note

If the ECO has no lines yet, the button is unavailable. Add at least one affected product first.

  4. In the Production orders section, locate the affected production order.

  5. Select Hold.

The Hold pane opens on the right.

  6. Review the production order, status, item number, quantity, and scheduled start date.

  7. In the Hold reason list, select a reason.

Available reasons depend on your system configuration.

  8. Enter additional information in the Notes field, if needed.

  9. Set Notify production floor to On if the production team should receive a notification.

  10. Select Confirm to place the order on hold.

To close the pane without placing the order on hold, select Cancel.

After the order is placed on hold:

  • The Action status changes to Hold.

  • A notification is sent if Notify production floor is set to On.
