Automating the import and posting processes ensures that new PLM data is regularly synchronized without manual intervention.
Batch jobs can be configured for:
Importing XML files from the connector’s working path.
Posting open PLM staging journals after validation.
Import Batch Job
Go to Engineering Change Management > Setup > PLM Integration > PLM Systems.
Select the relevant PLM system and click Message.
On the Operation tab, select Run.
Click OK to import XML files from the connector’s working path immediately.
Note
Check Batch processing toggle button to run import automatically at regular intervals.
Select Recurrence to define the schedule (e.g., every hour or daily).
Optionally configure Alerts to notify administrators of failures.
Posting PLM Staging Journal Batch Job
Go to Modules > Engineering Change Management > Periodic > PLM Integration > Post Staging Journals.
Configure the parameters as required and click OK. When executed, all open staging journals are automatically posted.
Note
To automate the process, enable Batch processing, set the Recurrence for the required frequency, and optionally configure Alerts to monitor success or errors. You can also define multiple threads for parallel processing in high-volume scenarios. Batch jobs are typically used in production to keep PLM and Dynamics 365 data synchronized automatically.
