Test group versioning

Prev Next

Life Sciences Quality Control & Assurance allows for the management of automatic versioning for test groups (that is, specifications). Users can create a new version of an existing test group, and the version number will be automatically assigned by the system.

The test group ID is structured as [Test group name] [Version]:

  • The Test group name can be either manually entered or automatically assigned. Test group name number sequence can be set up in Life Sciences Quality Control & Assurance > Life Sciences Quality Control & Assurance parameters > Number sequences.

  • The test group Version is automatically assigned by the system following the Default version format set up in the Life Sciences Quality Control & Assurance > Life Sciences Quality Control & Assurance parameters > Quality management tab.

Example

  • Test group number sequence: “TG###”

  • Default version format: “-#”

The test group names are automatically generated as “TG001-1”, “TG002-1”, and so on, with sequential numbering. If a new version of “TG001-1” is created, it is generated as “TG001-2”.

Steps

The New version feature allows authorized users to create a new test group version by performing the following steps:

  1. Go to Life Sciences Quality Control & Assurance > Setup > Quality control > Test groups.

  2. Select the existing test group version for which a new version needs to be created.

  3. Click the New version button and modify the test group description if needed.

The generated test group inherits the setup of the original one – including test group lines and specifications – and can be easily updated before being approved and activated.
