Pharmaceutical companies must follow specific procedures when preparing a shipment for sensitive products (for example, drug substances).
Life Sciences Supply Chain Management module allows defining additional shipment information to better plan the shipment activities, in particular with the addition of the following fields in the Shipment details form (Warehouse management > Shipments > All shipments):
Shipment type: in this field, users can define the type of shipment. The list of available shipment types can be configured in the Shipment types form (Warehouse management > Setup > Shipments > Shipment types).
Shipment preparation date and time: this field allows users to add information about shipment preparation, ensuring better control throughout the whole shipment process.
Shipment notes: this free text field can be used to add any additional information or note about shipments.
In addition, the Shipment type information can be specified in the sales order headers (Accounts receivable > Orders > All sales orders). If the shipment type is set at the sales order header, the related shipments will automatically inherit the Shipment type from the sales order header. The field will remain editable.
