Manual subdivision

Prev Next

The Life Sciences Supply Chain Management module allows for the creation of target sub-batches from one or multiple parent sub-batches, inheriting their information.

Journal setup

A new inventory journal name with the Journal type set to Transfer and the Manual subdivision parameter enabled should be configured in Inventory management > Setup > Journal names > Inventory.

Manual subdivision process

An authorized user performing manual subdivision must first create a target sub-batch manually by navigating to the Batches form and selecting the Sub batches button.

Next, the user must create a new transfer journal enabled for manual subdivision. The user may create one or multiple journal lines depending on the subdivisions to be executed. For each line, the user can either:

  • If a single parent sub-batch is to be used, define it in the Sub batch field of the From inventory dimensions group within the Inventory dimensions tab.
Note: The user cannot enter different batch numbers in the From inventory dimensions and To inventory dimensions field groups. This restriction prevents quantities from being moved into the wrong target sub-batch.

  • If multiple parent sub-batches are to be used, reserve them in the Reservation form and leave the Sub batch field blank in the From inventory dimensions group of the Inventory dimensions tab.
Note: The Reservation button is greyed out if the batch is not specified in the From inventory dimensions field group.

Upon clicking the Post button, the target sub-batch inherits the information from the parent sub-batch(es). The Sub batch type is inherited from the Sub batch type assigned to the transfer journal line, if available.

Note

If the same target sub-batch is entered in multiple journal lines, the system updates the target sub-batch properties following the order of the lines.
