Item tracing for batches linked to projects

Prev Next

The item tracing functionality is a Microsoft standard feature that traces the source and destination of items in the supply chain. Materials can be traced back to the vendor and forward through the production and sale of the finished product by going to the Item tracing form (Inventory management > Inquiries and reports > Tracking dimensions > Item tracing).

By standard, it is not possible to use the item tracing feature for transactions linked to projects. For this reason, the Life Sciences Supply Chain Management module extends the standard feature to make it available for batches linked to projects.

Enable the Item tracing for projects parameter (Inventory management > Setup > Inventory and warehouse management parameters > General tab) to allow tracing batches linked to projects.

The Item tracing report can also be generated for batches linked to projects.

Note

Please refer to Microsoft material for information about the logic of the item tracing functionality.
