The Life Sciences Weighing and Dispensing Master and Client components are installed on a server belonging to an Active Directory domain. Therefore, upon user login, the Life Sciences Weighing and Dispensing Client/Master validates the username and password against the Active Directory domain.
Security rules for password definition and expiration are inherited from the Active Directory settings.
Since D365 users belong to the Azure Active Directory instead, by standard, it would be necessary to manage Life Sciences Weighing and Dispensing users as an additional list of users out of D365.
Life Sciences Weighing and Dispensing provides the capability to integrate the authentication of Life Sciences Weighing and Dispensing users with D365 by assigning the relevant Active Directory domain to the D365 user, thus ensuring the possibility of maintaining a single list of users in D365. The link is obtained via the Dispensing user field in the Account FastTab in the User options form (System administration > Users > Users > User > User options). The Dispensing user field should be populated “Active Directory domain\Active directory username”.
The access level and permissions are determined by the security roles assigned to the relevant D365 user.
