Pharmaceutical companies will need to assign a unique numerical identifier to a chemical or a combination of chemicals involved in the manufacturing process of one or more products.
The new features provided by Life Sciences Supply Chain Management allow users to define the list of compounds in use during the manufacturing process. Chemical compounds can be created in the Compounds form (Product information management > Setup > Compounds > Compounds). The form presents the following fields:
Compound
Description
Molecular weight
Alternate compound name
Generic name
Trade name
Users can assign a compound number to an item in the Compound dropdown menu in the Released product details form (Product information management > Products > Released products > Released product details > General FastTab).
To see the list of products sharing a given compound, users need to click the Items button from the Compounds form and access the Compounds by item form (Product information management > Setup > Compounds > Items button).
Clinical Supplies Management Management module also allows to associate the investigated compound with clinical trial programs and protocols.
