The Life Sciences Weighing and Dispensing module allows users to enable the cleaning management in the Inventory and warehouse management parameters form in Inventory management > Setup > Inventory and warehouse management parameters > Life Sciences Weighing and Dispensing tab.
The following cleaning operation types are available and listed in a hierarchical order (from the highest to lowest) in the Life Sciences Weighing and Dispensing module:
Monthly – Enforced on the first working day of the month.
Daily – Enforced daily.
Full – Enforced based on cleaning rules for material types.
Partial – Enforced based on cleaning rules for material types.
To manage the integration of Life Sciences Weighing and Dispensing components, the cleaning types must be configured manually in the Life Sciences Weighing and Dispensing Master under Dispensing setup > Cleaning types > Area operation model.
The Alias field must be set to Daily, Monthly, Full, or Partial to map the pre-defined cleaning types. The second person verification can be enabled for each individual cleaning type.
Additionally, the cleaning types must be associated with a room in the Associations > Area tab to be enforced. The system does not enforce any cleaning operation of types that are not associated with the room.
The hierarchy of the cleaning types determines whether the selected type of re-cleaning operation is appropriate based on the last cleaning.
Cleaning rules
The Life Sciences Weighing and Dispensing module provides the capability to configure a set of cleaning rules by the site for the automatic creation of cleaning operations. Cleaning rules can be defined in the Cleaning rules form available in Inventory management > Setup > Cleaning > Cleaning rules. These rules are based on the following:
Scheduling – When created based on pre-defined frequency.
Material type – When created based on the material type of the weighed material.
Each cleaning rule is defined by a set of variables, as described in the following table.
Variable | List of values | Note |
|---|---|---|
Execution | Dropdown:
| Blank for cleaning rules based on a schedule (i.e., Daily or Monthly). |
Event type | Dropdown:
| Action that triggers a specific cleaning rule. Only applicable to cleaning rules based on material type. |
Site code | Dropdown:
| All for cleaning rules that ap-ply to all sites.
|
Site |
| The sites where the cleaning rules are applicable. |
Warehouse code |
| All for cleaning rules that apply to all warehouses in the site selected in the Site field. Table for cleaning rules that apply to a specific warehouse in the site selected in the Site field.
|
Warehouse |
| The warehouses where the cleaning rules are applicable.
|
Resource code | Dropdown:
| Group of dispensing booths (called Resources) or specific dispensing booth that requires a cleaning operation.
|
Resource | If the Resource code is set to:
| The dispensing booth(s) (i.e., Resource(s)) where the cleaning rules are applicable.
|
Item code | Dropdown:
| Only applicable to cleaning rules based on material type. |
Item | If the Item code is set to:
| Group of items or items that require a cleaning operation. Only applicable to cleaning rules based on material type. |
Material type group |
| Only applicable to cleaning rules based on material type. |
Cleaning type | Dropdown:
| Partial or Full, applicable to cleaning rules based on material type. Monthly and Daily are applicable to cleaning rules based on the schedule. |
Cleaning rules based on scheduling are enforced depending on the working days defined in the calendar assigned to the resource that maps the dispensing room.
Cleaning rules based on material type can be applied to all items, a specific item, or a group of items. The Life Sciences Weighing and Dispensing module allows users to group items into cleaning groups defined in the Cleaning groups form available in Inventory management > Setup > Cleaning > Cleaning groups.
Furthermore, the system provides the capability to define groups of material types with common properties (for example, material types including active ingredients or excipients) in the Material type groups form (Product information management > Setup > Material types > Material type groups and Inventory management > Setup > Material types > Material type groups).
Additionally, the system provides the capability to define groups of dispensing booths (called Resources) with common properties in the Cleaning resource groups form (Inventory management > Setup > Cleaning > Cleaning resource groups).
These setups allow for the aggregation of materials and dispensing booths that follow the same cleaning rules.
Cleaning instructions
To support a dispensing operator in the execution of the cleaning in compliance with the established procedure, it is possible to define cleaning instructions by the combination of a cleaning type and a site. The applicable cleaning instruction is displayed during the execution of a cleaning task in the Life Sciences Weighing and Dispensing Client.
Cleaning instructions are available in the Cleaning instructions form in Inventory management > Setup > Cleaning > Cleaning instructions.
