Review and manage field mapping status

On data migration, the field mapping status shows whether the migration message matches the current source database. This makes it clear if a customized or new source field is missing from the mapping. This saves you from having to query the source structure manually.

The field mapping status can have one of these values:

• Mapped: The field exists in the source document and it is mapped.

• Not mapped: The field exists in the source document, but it is not mapped.

• Not selected: The field does not exist in the source document.

• Skipped: The field is manually set to skipped, so it is clear the field is not used.

Note

The field mapping status is created or updated when:

• You generate the data migration message.

• You use Update mapping status.

Fields with the status Skipped are not updated by Update mapping status.

Steps

1. Click Connectivity studio - Integration Design.

2. Click Projects.

   Note

   Your currently active project is opened. This is the project as shown in the Project field on the Integration design workspace. Make sure your data migration project is selected.

3. On the Action Pane, click Design.

4. In the Migration group, click Mapping status.

   This opens a list of the field mapping status of all fields, for all data migration messages.

5. Sub-task: Update mapping status.

   When you generate a migration message, the field mapping status is set automatically.
   You can refresh the field mapping status of all fields. Fields with the status Skipped are not refreshed.

   1. Click Update mapping status.

      The Update the status of field mapping dialog box opens.

   2. Optionally, you can run the update in batch.

   3. Click OK.

6. Sub-task: Review and set field status.

   Review the field mapping status, and manually set fields you do not want to include in the mapping to Skipped.

   1. Click Edit.

   2. In the list, find and select the desired row.

      Each row shows the migration (message, project), record (table), and field name of a mapped field.

   3. In the Field Status field, select a value.

      Usually, you only manually select Skipped. But you can also select one of these statuses: Mapped, Not mapped, or Not selected.

7. Close the page.
